Qualifications Development

Here at TQUK we recognise that there are many good quality training courses and qualifications that are unregulated by an Ofqual Awarding Organisation and do not sit on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF).

On occasion there is value to be added to a course by turning it into a regulated qualification. This could be because you want the course outcomes to be recognised nationally or internationally, the industry you operate in values the regulated status of its training, or your learners and their employers are looking for a guarantee of consistency, validity and integrity of the assessment process.

We have a Qualification Development Team who can do this for you.

As an Ofqual recognised Awarding Organisation we are able to write and submit qualifications to the RQF and award regulated certifications to successful learners. We can take your new or existing training course and work with you to shape it into regulated provision.

Things to Note

All qualifications entered onto the RQF will have a start date of the first of the month. This means that if we submit a qualification through the Regulatory IT System for regulation on the 2nd January or the 31st January, the operational start date for that qualification will be the 1st February.

Once a qualification is entered by TQUK onto the register or regulated qualifications TQUK owns the Intellectual Property right for that qualification. This cannot be avoided. This applies only to the content of the qualification itself and NOT to any training materials, power points or assessments that you may have provided to aid the development process. These remain the property of your centre and will not be published by TQUK.

We are required to publish a specification for the qualification and there are certain things that we have to include.

Once the review has taken place we will contact you (usually within 7 days of receiving your application) to let you know whether or not we are able to undertake the development on your behalf.

At this stage, we will always explain why we are unable to undertake development if that is the outcome. As part of our feedback on your application, we will advise you of costs and timescales.

Development usually takes 3 to 6 months.

Is ‘Regulated’ the right thing for me and my course?

The answer to this depends on many things and the best way to decide is to have a chat with one of our Business Development Managers. These guys know all about the differences between unregulated, endorsed and regulated provision and can help you decide which is the best route for you.

Alternatively, you can call the office on (+852) 3100-0009 or send your enquiry to office@tquk-esea.org and speak to one of our Business Development Officers who can also point you in the right direction.
