Meet Lorena Marcos from the Philippines, one of the successful learners of TQUK Endorsed “Diploma in Caregiving (Elderly & Infant Care) (Level 2)”, training provided by the New Age Caregiver Academy, Hong Kong. After working as a domestic helper in HK for 13 years, she came across the opportunity for further education, sacrificed her personal time and took on the caregiving training, and eventually being hired by an employer in Canada. She is now looking forward to beginning her new career in Canada, as her Working Visa is expected to be issued by the immigration by this summer. Her full testimonial can be read here:

“I am Lorena Marcos, the first batch student of New Age Caregiver Academy (NACA) here in Hong Kong (HK), and a present domestic helper for 13 years.

“Nowadays cross country is very captivating and promising to us domestic helper and I am one of those aspirants. Everybody says all u need to do is come and work here in HK as a stepping stone towards Canada. But I myself enjoy and work here in HK and I did not consider HK as a stepping stone.  I’d rather say HK is my best training ground towards my dream!

“This dream blew my mind and I work hard to achieve it, so I enrolled as a caregiving student in New Age Caregivers Academy. However, I have to sacrifice my day-off, my personal time, with my determinations, patience and perseverance, and finally, I was able to finish the course.

“New Age Caregiver Academy is a TQUK Approved Centre in HK. Upon our Graduation we received the TQUK Diploma in Caregiving (Elderly and Infant Care) plus the transcript in which I considered it a big contribution to me and welcomed by my prospective employer in Canada. During the interview, I explained to the employer in Canada that I have been undergoing the caregiver training with a certificate issued by TQUK, and also my experience here in HK and the credential units that I have taken at my college in the Philippines. Then I was lucky that the Canada employer hired me as their Child Caregiver at home for their 3 years old son. I want to send my heartfelt gratitude to TQUK for granting me the Caregiver Certificate. As for now, my application is in process, waiting for my “Labour Market Impact Assessment (LmIa)” expecting this month of February by the grace of God.

“When the LMIA arrives I will be able to apply for my Working Visa from the immigration. Besides, I was also required to present supporting documents including Diploma in Caregiving and Transcript from TQUK, a support letter from New Age Caregiver Academy, my previous employer and my present employer in HK.

“By the Grace of God, 🙏 I am looking forward to having the Working Visa this coming summer 2019..to God be the glory🙏😊😘” — Lorena Marcos
